What have we been doing?
I know the blog posts have been a little sparse lately. It occurs to me that I have not taken a picture in over two weeks now. What have we been up to? In my case, sleeping. A lot. I think most everyone (and anyone who has seen me) knows this by now, but Zachary is going to be a big brother in approximately 16 more weeks. It's a boy, and no we haven't completely decided on a name yet!
Zachary is very excited, and will tell anyone who asks that his baby brother is in mommy's belly, cooking. The only time he has not seemed excited was when Charles asked him yesterday if he was going to be able to share his mommy. The look on his face indicated that this idea had not in fact occurred to him. He decided that daddy will take care of baby brother. I'll think about that later. :)
Meanwhile, we are doing fine - last weekend we went to a Superbowl party and Zachary had a blast playing with the other kids at the "football party". He is also very excited about Georgia's upcoming "racecar party". This past Saturday we drove to San Marcos for Andrew's all-region jazz band concert. Zachary sat very still through most of the long talk beforehand and all of the concert - he loves music. He also liked the big bobcat statue a lot. Hmm, that would have been a cute picture.
Every day he wants to watch Pete's Dragon and can speak the lines and sing the songs along with the movie. His vocabulary is quite extensive and we are amazed with the things he comes up with every day. The other day Charles called him 'Little Misters', one of his nicknames since he was a baby, and Zachary said 'No Daddy, that's silly, my Zachary!' He knows most of his shapes and colors now and can count up to about seventeen. He still loves school and church, and is doing just great.
I'll try to get better about the camera!
