The nursery is done!

We decided to have the crib delivered rather than borrow Jim's truck yet again and try to wrangle it home ourselves, especially since I wouldn't be able to help. The delivery was scheduled for yesterday between 1 and 6, but they were nice enough to call when they were on their way over. The setup went smoothly - Charles kept trying to help them but they wouldn't let him so he just gave them some water, which they appreciated. So now the nursery is all done! We have everything but the baby!

I was extremely pleased with how well the crib matches the dresser, considering we hadn't actually seen the wood color that we ordered. It is perfect!

This kid already has more clothes than the two of us combined!

We put the playard/bassinet in our room so he can sleep with us at first. The kitty likes to squeeze in the corner between the wall and the baby bed to sleep.

Uneventful doctor visit (yay!)

This afternoon I went back to the doctor for a blood pressure check. I did the weigh in (I don't know what my total is now and don't really want to!), then to the exam room to check my pressure. It was 134/82 today, so not bad, it's definitely been worse. Then she checked Zachary's heartbeat, which was a solid, steady 150's like normal. "Perfect!" she says. She stepped out to consult with the doctor, and a minute later I was dismissed for the day - in and out in 7 minutes. On the way home I rewarded myself with a Sonic cherry-lime slush - yay! I go back on Tuesday when I'll actually see the doctor again.

The crib is here!!!

I got a very exciting phone call today! We ordered our crib on July 5th and were told it would be 8 to 12 weeks for it to get here. We figured that would be okay since Zachary is going to be sleeping in our room for the first month or so. Well, USA Baby called today and the crib is here! That was the last piece to finish out the nursery. They are going to deliver it on Saturday afternoon between 1 and 6. It's a good thing I wasn't planning on going anywhere that day. :-)

Here is what the crib looks like, except ours will be a darker wood:

Here we go...

Now that I am on bedrest, I decided I have no excuses for starting a blog. I'll do my best to keep this up to date on our progress as we count down the days to the big event!
