17 months old!

I haven't done a monthly update in a while - Zach is just growing and changing so much! He is getting really tall and thinning out some right now and is talking a lot. These are his favorite words:

Booh-bah! (Football - whenever he spots a game on TV or one of his multiple footballs)
Ba (all other balls)
Uh-uh! (Still a big favorite)
Whoa! (Anything amazing, particularly Christmas lights)

A lot of the rest of these sound similar when he says them but have definite meanings, so I'll just put the meaning:
Juice (still applies to anything drinkable)
Cracker
Shoes
Jacket
Mama
Dada
Thank you (I swear I have heard this once or twice!)
Dog (We can say 'Where's your dog?' or 'Where's Tootie?' and he will point to him)
Kitty Cat (Same with 'Where's your cat?' or 'Where's Timmi?'
Down
More
Night night (When he is tired, he will say 'na na?' and head off to the bedroom)
Banana
Fire truck (We were at Penney's the other day and he found this pillow in the shape of a fire truck - he loves that thing)

I'm sure there are several I'm forgetting - I'll add them as they come to me!

Zachary really enjoyed Christmas this year. We would drive around looking at lights and he would just 'Whoa!' like crazy all around the neighborhood. A week or so before Christmas his daycare had a Christmas pageant. Zach and all the other one year olds were reindeer - their primary function was to sit there and look cute, which Zach of course excelled at. We got to spend Christmas and the week after in Corpus Christi with my parents this year. Every evening we would take Tootie for a walk and Zach would insist on holding his leash - they were quite a sight! He also had a good time feeding Granddad's birds and visiting all the local playgrounds. He loves to be outside, so I'm glad we've had so much nice weather.

We can say 'Where's your belly?' and he'll pull up his shirt and point to it. He will also point to his nose, and our noses. He has also figured out how to blow raspberries on my belly, which is quite hilarious.

I have a whole slew of pictures from December that should be up soon - stay tuned!

Helping Daddy

This is one of Zachary's favorite toys from Santa - his Little People garage. It is exactly the way I remember it from when I was a kid. He had a lot of fun helping Daddy put it together.

Thanksgiving at the farm

We had a lot of fun going to the farm for Thanksgiving. In honor of the trip we finally turned Zachary's carseat around so he can see where he's going. We could have turned him around months ago but we waited for him to get closer to the rear-facing weight limit for safety's sake. He seemed to appreciate the change.

Tootie got to go too - he loves the farm!

On the way we saw a giant flock of birds and a nice sunset.

Here is the farm.

Zachary had lots of fun playing with his cousins. We brought his wagon from home and were glad we did.

Grandmother brought this cool hat for Andrew's jazz band Christmas concert, but he let Zach try it on.

Rosie the dog taught Zach how to snatch cookies off the tray on the table. Here he is enjoying the spoils.
And watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade...

Taking a nap with Andrew after lunch - he is a good babysitter!

After the nap we went exploring. Look at this cool tractor...
Hey, this one is bigger!
This one is really big!!
Uncle Warren has lots of cool tractors!
The next day we went to Grandmother's house where Zachary met Harriett the donkey. He promptly decided to climb aboard.

On the way back we stopped to see some cows. These cows are saying 'Watchoo lookin' at?!'

As we were leaving we saw the Back to the Future car parked at the McDonald's. I wonder what Marty and the Professor were doing in Fairfield?
Everyone had a good time - there was a lot of snoozing in the backseat all the way home.
