We made it through!
Well, we survived our first week with me back and work and Matthew at daycare - whew! Matthew did great - the first couple of days he didn't want to drink from his bottle too much but by the end of the week he was a pro. He really seems to like watching the other babies and he has a mobile in his crib that he loves. When I go to visit him, they are either holding him, or he is in his crib smiling at his mobile. He was a little sniffly by the end of the week but I guess that is to be expected. I think he grew a lot this week - he almost looks like a different baby to me. I am just going to look at him all weekend.
.
As for me, I cried a lot the first day, just a little the second day, and by the third day I didn't cry at all! The most challenging part is getting all our stuff ready for each day. Every day when I leave the house I have to make sure I have Matthew's bottle bag, Zachary's lunchbag, my lunchbag, my purse, and my pump bag. And the baby and Zachary. :) I have been packing all the lunches and washing bottles and pump parts the night before, which is working well except for Thursday night when I fell asleep with Zachary and then found myself packing lunches at 1 am.
.
So here we are on Saturday morning - this is an unedited view of the state of our house, McDonalds cups and all. We are watching The Incredibles for the hundredth time this week. And yes, Zachary is eating Cheetos for breakfast. But they are baked. :) And we are all healthy and happy!
P.S. Haircut reactions
When we let Tootie in after we got back from the haircut, he barked at Zachary for about five minutes. Finally we made him sniff his feet and he recognized him!
When we went to school on Monday, Zachary told all his teachers 'Don't worry, it will grow back to normal!' Ms. Irene, his new Busy Bee teacher, told me she saw him with his friends and said 'Did we get a new student?'

P.P.S. - Potty training update
Zachary is potty trained! I am super proud of him. His last big accident was on his third birthday, but since then it has been smooth sailing. Woo-hoo! Only one in diapers!
