Sand Gnats are #1!

Reid's baseball team, the Sand Gnats, won first place in their tournament ending last night. Congratulations Reid! Zachary had fun watching both his big cousins play ball!

Getting big

Here we are dressed up to go for a walk when it was chilly outside the other day - he looks like such a little man! We are about to have to start shopping for a new carseat already - this one goes up to 22 pounds, and he is around 19 now!

Our new trick

Zachary has learned how to make a noise with his tongue - it's really cute!

(Sorry if this takes a long time to load - it's kind of long...)

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday my office was having a costume contest so I took Zachary down there in his Tigger suit to show him off. It was good to see everyone (hi y'all!), but I can't say that I'm really looking forward to going back anytime soon! Right now I am scheduled to go back the week before Christmas, which is when Charles is out of school for the semester. Anyway, I guess not too many people had dressed up, so Zachary won a prize!

That night after Daddy got home we went for a walk around the neighborhood and collected quite a bit of candy in spite of ourselves. Luckily the stroller has lots of storage - I told everyone Zachary really likes candy corn. :-)

So about the Tigger outfit - it is a size 6 months. Daddy bought it when Zachary was about 3 weeks old, and at the time I thought it was going to be way too big. Obviously, I was worried about the wrong thing... What happened to my tiny baby?!

Our trip to the pumpkin patch

Today Mommy thought it would be a good idea to take the Pumpkin to a pumpkin patch. Daddy talked her out of driving to Marble Falls to go to the big pumpkin patch with the hayrides and corn maze - we'll save that for next year. Instead we went to Grace UMC's annual pumpkin patch in Travis Heights.

Here we are dressed to go - can you feel the excitement?

Here we are arriving at the pumpkin patch...

and in the pumpkins....

Hey, what is this?

What do you mean it's time to go? We just got here!

It was a very nice pumpkin patch. We were going to bring a pumpkin home, but we forgot to bring money so we left with just our memories.

The End.

Rupert's new bed

Rupert is our kitty who was banished to the back porch for chronic misbehavior unsuitable for a baby in the house. He seems pretty happy out there. This is his new favorite place to sleep - he's in his pot as we speak.

7 1/2 hours!

Last night Zachary slept from 10:45 until 6:15! We've had a few stretches of 5 or 6 hours before this, but this was definitely the longest. Does that count as "through the night"? (Have to mark it in the baby book!)

Tummy Time

Zachary is not a big fan of tummy time. Actually, he hates it. But I discovered recently (after his doctor suggested it) that he's happier if he's on his boppy. He just tends to get a little distracted by those tasty hands!

Happy Birthday Grand-dad!

It's a big one, but I won't say which. :-)

Go 'Horns!

Ready for Halloween!

I was sad to hear of the passing of Bevo XIII on Monday - we started at UT the same year!

Four band-aids

Well, we survived our first set of shots! Here is Zachary this morning...

Here he is when we told him we were going to the doctor...

Here he is after his shots...

But seriously - he did great! He did go from a beautiful smile to a pretty shocked expression, followed by an extremely red face, followed by a howl, but he recovered quickly. The worst part was that they had to redo the heelstick because the last one they did got rejected by the lab for some reason. So he got three injections, the heel stick, and an oral vaccine for rotavirus, then some Tylenol.

We spent the rest of the day on the couch - he wanted to be with Momma which was fine with me! He was a little fussy but mainly just slept all day. All those pictures were taken after we got home, so he obviously rallied for some smiles. He is sacked out now, none the worse for wear.

And he's two months old now!

Oh, he weighed in at 16 pounds, 12.8 ounces, and is 25.5 inches long. He is off the charts in height and weight. The doctor said "He's a moose!" That's our boy. :-)

Rain Delay

We were supposed to go in for Zachary's two month checkup this morning at 10:40, but as of 10:00 it was pouring down rain, with tornado warnings and hail expected. Charles called and they were able to reschedule us for tomorrow at 9:30. By 10:20 it had cleared up. Oh well - better safe than sorry! So Zachary gets a one day reprieve from his shots, yay!

Cute outfits

I was going through Zachary's clothes the other day, and I realized we have quite a few 3 month size outfits that he has never worn, and will not be able to soon, so I decided to let him wear one every day and take a picture. Please ignore the toes in the bottom of the pictures - I haven't quite perfected my technique and I'm too lazy to Photoshop them... :-)

I think this one is from Aunt Jaime - I hope he can still squeeze into it when we finally make it to one of Reid and Andrew's games:

He really likes this one!

I hope I can always remember his hands like this...
