Thanksgiving luncheon

On Tuesday we went to Zachary's school for their Thanksgiving luncheon. We got there and all the babies had their Thanksgiving bibs that they had made on - they were cute! We were at the Indians table. They had a really good parent turnout and a ton of food!

Teeth

Since my sweet baby has begun morphing into a toddler, I get to see this face more and more. :) It is a good shot of his teeth though - he now has all four molars almost all the way in. I think he's working on the incisors on top now.


We have two new words - a few days ago he started saying 'nana' for banana. He is really enthusiastic about bananas - I can't decide if he really likes to eat them or is just excited to be communicating.


This morning we were outside as we are every morning now (if not, I get the face, above) and we heard the train whistle. He loves to hear the train, but this morning he said 'choo?' I said 'Yes, choo-choo!' He spent the rest of the morning saying 'choo-choo!' Yay! :)


I can't wait to hear what words he learns over Thanksgiving!

Happy Birthday Aunt Kathleen!

Your birthday brought us our first real cool weather, so I wanted to take a picture of Zach in his cute new coat and hat, but he does not stay very still these days!

15 month checkup

Zachary did great at his checkup yesterday. He is definitely a lot busier and nosier now! He was like 'what the heck?' when we had to strip him down for the scale, and in the doctor's office we had to put his shoes back on so he could walk around and investigate everything. His official stats are:

Height: 33 inches - 95th percentile
Weight: 27.8 lbs - 90th percentile
Head: 50 cm - 97th percentile

He's right on track with his speech and development. They expect 3-6 words in addition to Mama and Dada at this point, so we're there already. He had to get 4 shots, but he was a trooper. We'll have to take him in a month to get part 2 of his flu shot.

15 months old - first haircut!

In honor of Zachary's 15 month birthday today, Lathan's mom was nice enough to come over to our house and give him a little trim. Everybody loves the curls, but it was getting a little wild.

He sat very still the whole time... he didn't know what to think!

And here he is!! We thought it turned out very nice - still a little curl and room to grow more. :)

We go in on Tuesday morning for his 15 month check up. I don't think we have to get any shots this time.

Zachary is talking up a storm - he likes to say 'Uh-oh!!' a lot. He also says 'juice', 'shoes', 'this', and 'down'. But he really likes 'Uh-oh!' :-) His favorite thing to do right now is transfer dog food from Tootie's bowl inside to his bowl outside. If any spills, he 'uh-oh!'s' until all the pieces are collected. He really likes to go outside too, and will grab the doorknob to the garage and say 'down!' That is pretty much his all purpose preposition. Once outside, he likes to push his wagon and tricycle around the garage and the driveway. I'll post the results of his doctor visit after Tuesday.

Halloween carnival and trick-or-treating

On Halloween they had a parade and carnival at Zach's school. Here they are getting ready for the parade. Zach liked the ring toss.

He really liked this little chair - he sat there for a long time until we finally had to let other kids get in to take a picture.

He also enjoyed wearing these funny glasses on the back of his neck.
That night we got dressed up in our monkey suit to go trick or treating.
Daddy carved the pumpkin the night before.




Georgia was a beautiful peacock. This was her last night as an only child! We went to a few houses with Zander and Georgia. I wish this picture was not blurry, but it's the only one I got - they were very cute! Zachary liked walking up to the door, but when offered candy he got shy. I'm sure he'll warm up to it by next year!

Bye week

The Chargers didn't play this weekend, and I didn't take any pictures. Here are a couple of shots of the boys enjoying the game last weekend...

Pumpkin Patch 2007

This year we got to go to the big Pumpkin Patch in Marble Falls - Zachary got a little more out of it than last year! He took a nice nap on the way there so he was a little disoriented at first, but it was a beautiful day for it.


He warmed up to the idea pretty quickly though - there were all kinds of pumpkins (and gourds) here!

There were lots of people and lots of fun things to do.

45 cents a pound - what a deal!

I took this picture to show the little baby in the background. What kind of crazy person would bring a tiny baby to a big pumpkin patch? :-) There were quite a few there, actually.

Zachary really liked all the little pumpkins. He liked to pick them up and then throw them on the ground.

He got to pet his first horse and squeeze its ear.

And his first donkey! They had goats too but he wasn't as impressed with them.

While we were in this area we saw a couple of little boys wearing aggie jerseys, but we all got along. I overheard someone say 'look, it's Colt McCoy 18 years ago!'

After the donkeys we went on a hayride.

They made us get off the trailer and walk through that little tunnel. They said it was a haunted tunnel and all the little girls shrieked all the way through it. Zachary was mildly amused but didn't much care for all the shrieking.


After the hayride Zachary just ran around - one of his favorite things to do.
He found this little stash of pumpkins and picked them up and threw them down some more.

Then he and Daddy played in the sorghum fields.
We didn't do the corn maze this year - we heard it took an hour and none of us felt like wandering around in corn for that long.

We were going to get a pumpkin but by the time we were ready, the lines were too long, so once again we went home with just our memories. But next year we'll be ready!

Zachary had a really good time - we stopped a Dairy Queen for a quick grilled cheese and then he slept all the way home.
